Synopsis

Léargas samhlaíoch ar shaol Patrick MacGill, file, úrscéalaí agus 'navvy', a úsáideann ábhar cartlainne agus drámaíocht chun saol MacGill a iniúchadh trína scríbhneoireacht dírbheathaisnéiseach. Leanann an scannán faisnéise seo a thuras ó bheith ina spailpín fíor-bhocht i nDún na nGall agus é fós ina pháiste, trína bhlianta mar navvy in Albain, go dtí go dtagann sé chun cinn mar scríbhneoir i Londain, áit ar foilsíodh a úrscéal claisiceach Children of the Dead End. An imaginative look at the life of navvy poet and novelist Patrick MacGill, using archive and drama to explore MacGill's life through his autobiographical writing. The documentary explores his journey from impoverished child labourer in Donegal, through his years as a navvy in Scotland, to his emergence as a writer in London, where his classic novel Children of the Dead End was published.
